subsystems (subproducts) should be optionally installable:

the packager should be able to specify during prototype creation,
which subproducts are to be installed by default, and which are included
but wouldn't be installed, unless specifically selected.

You worked with IRIX and inst(1M) Peter, I think you know what I'm talking about:

inst> keep *
inst> install default
inst> conflicts
No conflicts

inst> go
