Maybe not...

Check /var/log/Xorg.0.log. I suspect you'll find Xorg
terminated with a core dump. This should be bug 6801386:
Synopsis: Xorg core dumps on startup if hald not running in snv_107
http://bugs.opensolaris.org/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6801386
And this is supposed to be fixed in build 109.
Question is why hald doesn't start. Do you use NTP ?
Could this be bug 6792302 ?
Synopsis: hald occasionally exits on startup with status 2
http://bugs.opensolaris.org/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6792302
Check the timestamps in hal's smf service log file:
# svcs -l hal
fmri svc:/system/hal:default
...
logfile /var/svc/log/system-hal:default.log
...
# tail /var/svc/log/system-hal:default.log
What messages are logged? Any error messages?
How much time passes between "executing start method..."
and hal failing? 250 seconds? Or less than 250 seconds?
