I doubt it also, but not sure how to get this to work.
I tried modifying the configure.in/aclocal.m4 files to tell it to use the correct libs/include file but it is not finding it for some reason. Maybe someone with more compiling/linking expertise can figure this out.

Some of the code reference #include <ldap.h>, so I guess I need to modify that to use #include <openldap/ldap.h>. I wonder if it is getting confused with both LDAP libraries in /usr.

For now, I think I will just go compile OpenLDAP in /usr/local, and file a bug to see if someone can provide Cyrus SASL (with LDAP) support in IPS.
