I've used a similar configuration with 2008.11 (and before and since).
You can use "cfgadm -lv usb" to see the USB devices detected by the
operating system. Then, you can ask more specifically:
$ cfgadm -lv usb2/4
Ap_Id Receptacle Occupant Condition Information
When Type Busy Phys_Id
usb2/4 connected configured ok Mfg: <undef> Product: PS2 to USB NConfigs: 1 Config: 0 : HID Mouse
