[install-discuss] Installation of snv from SATA DVD using nv-sata ?

Several users   have reported  that  they could not install  SNV   using 
  a SATA-DVD  attached to a  SATA channel attached  to a Nforce chipset. 
  This seems  to imply that the nv-sata driver  only works with Hard Disks at the moment.
   
   Is this  a correct assessment  or is other factors of importance ?
