Yes, the three "removed" functions were private functions added to
support mediaLib integration. These functions are now properly marked
as "static" so they no longer are exported. The removal of these
functions is appropriate - it was a bug that we were exporting them
previously.
Obviously, the function additions are okay and expected with the
new GNOME 2.18 release.
