I posted a page with a proposal for moving the current KMF API
forward. The goal is to have an API that is easier to extend
without changing the binary interfaces (ABI) and not requiring
all consumers to re-compile.

Because we need to remain backwards compatible, the function
names will have to change, but this is actually good
because the new proposed API more closely conforms to current
coding and naming conventions used elsewhere in Solaris.
We will deprecate the old (i.e. current) API and
migrate existing consumers to the new API over time.

The impact will not be too great because we don't have
many consumers at this point and the KMF API is still
classified as "Consolidation Private", which means we
can make some changes to it before elevating it to
a higher level.

The new page is posted here:

Please review and comment.

Thanks,
  Wyllys Ingersoll
