Yes, that patch is applied to the tree... otherwise 64bit SPARC would
crash. AFAIK the issue from 2006-08-04 will not affect AMD64 because it
doesn't enforce the natural alignment of datatypes via SIGBUS... :-)
... this seems to be a completely different problem.
