Because ksh is used very often during Solaris boot and runtime so it has
some importance for me to look at performance and footprint and try to
optimize this...

AFAIK perf-discuss at opensolaris.org list was in the CC: list of the
original posting...

BTW: Would it be usefull to make "-xarch=pentium_pro" (or
"-xtarget=pentium_pro" ?) the default for Solaris x86 binaries (based on
the detail that Intel Pentium-1 seems to be the minimum hardware which
is currently supported) ?
