So it seems we tripped over the kind of code duplication that I was trying
to avoid in the first place :-(

I don't think it's fair to burden the project team with fixing that mess,
so I'm fine with restoring your original approach and filing an RFE to
resolve the redundant /usr/demo rules at a late time.
