I'd probably try to install in text mode,
option "4. Solaris Interactive Text (Console session)"
in the initial menu.
When Solaris is installed, you can try to configure X.
Using the command "kdmconfig" you can setup the
system to use either the Xsun or the Xorg server.
The installer always uses Xsun.
Maybe Xorg works better?
Do you know what kind of video hardware is integrated in
that Dell Latitude D610 notebook? Dell's web site mentions
an ATI RADEON X300. I believe that the X300 is supported
by the Xorg server.
