Hello all,
I have an Intel Pro/100 VE mini-PCI NIC (or one that belongs to the category anyway) on my Compaq 6100tu laptop. It was not detected in the original round of hardware detection, but setting the device id in /etc/driver_aliases solved the problem. Note that this works properly only on the Solaris express (snv 48), and not on Solaris 10.

The change necessary to make is to edit the /etc/driver_aliases and set
iprb "pci8086, 1092"
and then sys-unconfig, which reconfigures the system.

Maybe the device-id could be added to the original /etc/driver_aliases? But please note that I have tried it only on my laptop.

Regards,
Maidros
