In the name of science, I've decided to leave the safety net of Solaris 10 with its periodic updates and updated to Solaris Express (from www.sun.com/software/solaris/solaris-express, not the one from opensolaris).
I installed sol-nv-b48 and the cardbus driver that ships with it was able to initialize my card (the blue led went on) however doing prtconf -D hangs the machine. I can even make it go to init state 5 by means of the power button, but it looks stuck in some mutex or other synchronization object in the kernel (probably in one of the drivers involved in controlling my card).
I tried to upgrade to cardbus-0.3 that is available for download in this community, but it doesn't even manage to initialize the card (the led remains off). Incompatibility with the particular Nevada build I'm using?
Would I be more successful by upgrading to the Solaris Express community b50 available in opensolaris site? Any other hints?
