[laptop-discuss] updated frkit?

ok, so i just downloaded and installed the new Solaris Express 8_06 (snv_44) and once i got it installed i ran frkit and rebooted-- well, amazingly powernow works on my modified ferrari 4000 without my ACPI table in place in /boot/acpi/tables!

so my question is what changed? was it frkit, or the solaris snv_44? or did it copy my table to firmware or something becasue i did put my table in /boot/acpi/tables before i ran frkit the first time. then i moved it and rebooted to see if it would break, but it didn't look any different with my table gone.

anybody know why it's working now? had i known either installing snv_44 or re-running frkit would have fixed my problems i wouldn't have spent all that time pouring over the ACPI docs and deciphering those cryptic tables... but then i wouldn't have learned anything! ;)
