So, you will have the source tree already, like 
/builds/source_dir/usr/src/...
un-pack the ipw pacakge, you will have a dir ipw-iwi-0.5-src, copy the 
files in
ipw-iwi-0.5-src/usr to builds/source_dir/usr, then
usr/src/uts/common/io/ipw -> located the source code, you can modify the 
source code there.
usr/src/uts/intel/ipw or iwi -> located the Makefile, type #make there 
to make the binary.

Please remember to type "#ws ." first in your /builds/source_dir.
