[laptop-discuss] The External Monitor Thing, if no xorg.conf then how

Hi,

I am testing build 60 which recognizes my 1200x800 screen resolution of the VAIO-N145FP laptop . (something that didn't happen in build 55b). Am quite happy with it except that I don't have external monitor capability. Now, I understand this has to be done tweaking the xorg.conf, but I have a couple of questions here.

1.- If is not via xorg.conf, how do we configure X to make it do this kind of things?
2.- Is there a dump of the current config that I can get with an utility if I want to build an xorg.conf (I don't want to make an xorg.conf to end up with less than 1200x800)
