Thanks. I've almost finished the download of Solaris Express Community Edition (sol-nv-b77-x86-dvd-iso-?.zip). Is that what you refer to as snv_77 ? (I'm not sure of the terminology used for this.). 

What would be the process then? Simply copy the new binary over the old one? Then reboot? modunload/modload? add_drv ? ....

By the time you see this, I would have had SXCE downloaded, but thanks anyway for the offer.

I was under the impression one needed a community edition to build the Solaris source, but I don't  know.
