I have this problem too (known bug, 6487609), and I think it's related to the
i915 driver. The 'quick' workaround would be to remove any reference to i915 to
/etc/driver_aliases and /etc/name_to_major. Daniel Zhu might interested to hear
some more information of what hardware setup you have.
