There is support for Intel Enhanced Speedstep in build 71 or later.
For the dual core AMDs, the only option is to continue to use powernow
and run just a single core.
This can be achieved by adding the following line to /etc/system and
rebooting:
set use_mp = 0
(Boot archive will be rebuild)

Some require the OS to do it for you on others it just works through
BIOS magic. (E.g., the Ferraris)

Strange; anyway, the Intel support should improve shortly to be more or
less on parwith nVidia.
