By default, no - but it is possible.
If a disk image (file) is installed so that the root partition starts on
cylinder 0 then you can use lofi and mount the file. However the Solaris
installer puts swap on cylinder 0 by default.
There is a long standing bug logged against lofi to enhance it
to allow multiple slices be mounted or slices at a non-zero offset.

Yes, once the guest using the file is stopped and unbound.
