[livemedia-discuss] Creating an OpenSolaris image from source builds

Hi,
I am looking for insight on OpenSolaris and would like to be able to build from sources and get the generated proto area to boot in an empty UFS slice. Is that possible? Is that achievable by just copying (cp -r) the proto area to an empty UFS-formatted slice and configuring GRUB to boot off it? I noticed the livekit takes an installation media as input, so I would like to know what the difference is between the generated proto area and the resulting installation media (apart from the package structure).
