I used to read os-discuss, but I've recently unsubscribed because it was
taking up too much time, and (as you correctly point out) the SNR leaves
a little to be desired.

Remebers USENIX?! It's still around, ya know! :-) (Says he who's subscribed

That's what -help is supposed to be for. But I agree that -discuss is the
usual first port of call for newcomers. Alas, I have no idea how to make
it a more friendly place.
