Better yet, shouldn't each community be encouraged to
publish artifacts (checklists, best practices, howtos,
tools, ...) that all developers could use to ensure
that their efforts align in the best possible ways?
It simply doesn't scale to expect every single development
project team to individually engage with every related
community - the churn and learning-curve burnouts alone
would doom it to failure.

That is why I have been pushing for clarification
(both in intent and, if needed, in constitutional
changes) of the relationship between Communities
and Consolidations, since the former don't quite
work for the needs of the latter...

Absolutely! Although Stephen seems to have blurred
the distinction between his OpenSolaris life and his
personal one with his upcoming merge with the Wendy
community :-)

Where do you see evidence of this? (especially the

Could you expand on this thought? I don't necessarily
disagree, but I would like to understand other
perspectives.
