One observation. It was not until this "implied community endorsement
appeared" on "community infrastructure" IE: OpenSolaris.org, did the
community react.

How about changing the third para to explicitly ask [Sun] to consider
removing such naming statements from the "community infrastructure".
IE:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Until that time, we ask that [Sun] consider acknowledging the
community's concerns by removing material from "community
infrastructure" that implies the community's exclusive endorsement. We
the OGB feel that this act would be interpreted by
the community as a sign that Sun values the community's input, and
would do increase the odds of a fruitful and mutually beneficial
outcome.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'd also like the OGB to consider the addition of the following
statement, but this could be part of a separate request to Sun"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"We also encourage [Sun] to actively engage the OGB, (publicly or
privately) as early as possible, prior to any future activities that
have a likelihood of raising controversy."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
