[ogb-discuss] Please explain wiki edits!

Hey OGB and friends,

This is not meant to be getting at anyone in particular, we all do it,
but...

Request: Please can we make very sure we complete the "Summary:"
field on GenUnix.org when we make changes to pages?

Rationale: I am subscribed to a lot of the pages I care about (ideally
I would get auto-subscribed to all OGB-related pages but I see no way
to do that). The notice I get when someone edits does not include
their change, but does include that "Summary" field thus:

> Editor's summary: <text goes here> - This is a minor edit <if Minor
> Edit is checked>

If you supply no text, there is no explanation of the edit and I am
forced to visit the web page.

Bonus point: In addition, I note people are ticking the "minor edit"
check-box for almost everything. I suggest that it only applies to
typos and formatting and otherwise should be left unchecked.

I know it sounds trivial, but getting this right means I will be able
to ignore almost all notifications (because I trust everyone!) but
will still be informed of progress.

Thanks!

S.
