The Best Practice is to prop oneself with an outstretched limb against a 
firm, vertical surface. Of course, frequent usage of beer(1) makes it 
difficult to distinguish between vertical and horizontal characteristics 
of a surface, which, in my opinion, is one of the most striking 
manifestations of the Heisenberg uncertainty principle.
