Are there such future projects in progress that can be referenced?
Who will use this?

What's the difference between making kstats available via a private
RPC and creating a kstat private MIB for SNMP?  Is the RPC mechanism
preferable?

The current libkstat is in the root file system (/lib) and links
against just libc and libm.  What does the new one require?
