Laca/James:

Sorry for the slow response. It took me some time to track down the
information.

This is according to Niall Power:

I had to fix a Trusted JDS issue where things like trash:// burn://
computer:// etc weren't able to work inside local zones. The problem was
that a per zone D-Bus session wasn't running. Once we got a per zone
D-Bus session running the problem was fixed.

The D-Bus system bus is still inaccessible inside zones though but that
could change in the future as there is work in progress to make global
zone Unix sockets accessible inside zones. Stephen knows more of the
details about that.

And this is according to Stephen Browne, who works on TJDS:

--begin quote--

The only issue with D-Bus is client access to the system bus from a
zone. Currently cross zone UDS is not permitted although the code has
been written to enable it.

We aren't using it yet (dont need to) and may not do so depending on new
TX device management code and the possible use of a trusted proxy to
communicate from the global zone system bus to zoned clients.

--end quote--

So, I don't believe that James' concern about D-Bus programs hanging
is an issue. It does seem there are some issues with the system bus
working with zones, but it sounds like TJDS doesn't use that feature
currently.
