I agree with this, though I don't think it's entirely this project's
fault that the configuration mechanism looks like a do-it-yourself
toolkit.  If I weren't trying to sabbaticalize myself, I might have
been moved to say that we need a derail to deliver some advice.  I
don't know how to make it right, but it certainly seems to me that
this needs to be simpler.

Perhaps those who use these plug-ins are just used to everything being
really hard and don't notice this one problem so much.  :-/
