They're not totally busted. They still work with the driver-given
name in /dev. They just won't work with the administratively assigned
name known to dladm and IP.
I see it as a fit-and-finish problem. Things that integrate into
Solaris ought to work properly with the local Solaris tools and
features. Things that aren't integrated needn't necessarily work so
well ... though it'd be nice if they did.
