Well.. the way I look at this is pretty simple. If the writable bits are in /var/games.. then why not have the binaries in /usr/games ? Personally, I like the concept of /usr/games for GAMES! If we start dumping games into /usr/bin, eventually we'll have doom and quake in /usr/bin as well. I'd rather see those things in /usr/games. Atleast when I build a container for *real* work, I could hide /usr/games:) So while someone is running their java app in a container, I can run quake2 in the global zone:)
