Good question.   I hadn't thought about this until you brought it up.

VirtualBox emulates an Intel AC'97.  VMWare supports the AudioPCI from 
Creative -- we don't have support for it today anyway.

qemu is going to be a problem.  It emulates a SoundBlaster 16.  :-(

Not sure if that's going to be a problem or not.
