I agreed too.  One of the good and bad points about most UNIX based 
systems is the legacy and the multiple tools to achieve the same thing.
Windows and MacOS X are IMO the real competitors in this area and 
because of their legacy they can pick a single mixer program and make 
that the supported way.

I think we can safely do the same for OpenSolaris/Solaris.next by 
picking a single mixer API, ie OSS.

As long as playback from SADA applications works I think that is 
sufficiently good enough.  It isn't like the current situation with SADA 
apps and mixers is actually easy to understand or particularly useful 
anyway (especially on Sun Ray where it is just a nightmare of a user 
experience).
