It means:

  - we owe customers some sort of "learn to use pconsole, not
    cconsole" notice of obsolescence.

  - new projects can't rely on cconsole (not that they ever did).

  - any project team proposing to modify cconsole and friends will be
    asked "so, why again are you doing this?"
