At least libncurses is in OpenSolaris now via the SUNWncurses package.

As for libreadline, I had thought that we had other applications
delivering in Solaris now that used it, and just had an ugly static
linkage for legal reasons.  (Really, we should just ship the darned
thing already.)

Have you asked the SFW gatekeepers about libreadline status?
