We are not requesting any additional time consuming task... but I hope you can understand that if you don't provide us with the patch information ... it's difficult for us to integrate it... We also looked in the Novell patch repository but could not find anything ...

Aijin Kim who is our OOo/StarSuite testing engineer at Sun is active on the OOo CCK lists. She has been informed of the problem. You can communicate to her where to find the patch, if you wish.

Hi Rafaella,

Thanks for your patience. I feel reinvigorated about OO/SO/SS/OS.

I have located the url where their patches to OOo are posted:

http://www.opendesktop.org.tw/modules/wmpdownloads/

As I mentioned previously, Sun's Chinese-speaking Engineers will be able to do a much better job than I to solve those Chinese locale problems in OOo and OS. I feel your frustrations, but there is not much I could do at this point, except describing the problems that we are experiencing, from the users' point of view. What we have is not only a language barrier, but also cultural barrier (i.e., the way businesses are conducted in different parts of the world) as well.

The company that puts together those patches is currently on retainer to conduct a Linux/OOo pilot for the Executive Yuan (central government) of Taiwan. From my own experience, Solaris should have a better chance of success, if not now, but ultimately. This may also represent an excellent opp for Sun to try to sell some BlackBoxes.
