Yes - but most die-hard Sun users would like to see:
- Solaris as the host operating system.
- Sun publish some statement of intent as regards its technical directions
in the virtualization technology segment.
- Sun take a leadership position, rather than being last to the party.

This article has more of a feel of being a marketing exercise (more for the
benefit of VMware), rather than a concrete committment to upcoming
products.
Also - here's the rub for Solaris: If Solaris x86 is the guest OS, as in
this announcement, then what is the host OS? Answer: MicroSoft server or
(Red Hat) Linux. Both of which don't help Sun demonstrate a leadership
position for Solaris or a priority to capitalize on the technological
superiority of Solaris.
