The Fedora project was a *miserable* failure for a long time, and I'm
pretty sure some of the Red Hat guys will admit that. It's definitely
getting there now though. Community projects like this take time to
build up, and I suspect the same will be true of OpenSolaris.
But every day I'm more excited by what I see happening behind the Sun
walls - the bits that you can't yet see, but soon will. There's a lot of
really clued in people here, who all want to see the project succeed and
going about things in the right way.
I don't think it's a case of 'too little too late' really - we just
haven't reached the critical mass to get the project *really* rocking.
