How about "What a difference a year makes." Ordinary, I know. The 
original doesn't read cleanly to me (if it's just me, fine), though.

I like the idea of mentioning the members here. Also, we currently have 
50 code putbacks, so perhaps we can mention contributions (but not the 
number)? Just general contributions: code, documentation, bugs, etc.

How about:

They said it couldn't be done. But we did it.
More than 1,000 ...


This is hard.
