I'm all for graphics, believe me, but since the site has been without a
front page graphic for about a week now, it's growing on me. I like it.
It's nice and clean, actually.

In general, the site is light on graphics, so have we considered a front
page design with no major front page graphic at all (aside from the
wordmark and the little nav icons, of course)? Also, do we have any data
about how a front page graphic affects page views and community
involvement? In other words, why change it? I understand the change with
the anniversary, of course, but why not go back to Chandan's original
graphic?

Thank you for making it an open process.

Have we specified how the web team will be making the selections?
