Sorry for not catching the crux of your question earlier.

Again IMHO, I don't think you need addtional commands or dladm stuff for such
global defaults.  IMHO you should keep the globals exclusively in SMF,
especially given they don't seem to me to be GLOBALLY tweaked often.
