[tools-compilers] Support for decimal floating point in Studio compilers and Solaris

While working to improve GCC support for Solaris, the question turned up
what it would take to support decimal floating point (now ISO/IEC TR
24732:2009): see the thread starting at

Apart from the compiler support, the psABI needs to be augmented and
considerable additions to libc are called for as well.  While the
additions for the x86 and amd64 psABIs already exist, the corresponding
SPARC definitions probably don't.

Has there any interest or demand been expressed for this, or is there
even work going on to implement this?
