While not really an OpenSolaris event, there is something coming to the
Atlanta office that I thought might be of interest to this group.

On May 10, from 11:30am to 1:45 PM, we will be hosting a satellite
broadcast of a presentation on Logical Domains, virtualization
technology recently introduced into Solaris 10.

Logical Domains, or LDoms, technology is a revolutionary new form of
server virtualization that leverages the T1 processor's Chip Multi
Threading (CMT) capability to provide virtual machines. LDoms lets you
define virtual machines on the same T1000 or T2000 processor, each
running a separate, isolated instance of Solaris that can be
individually started, stopped, and patched, and run different workloads
and kernel levels, and without the overhead seen in other implementations.

This broadcast session will explain LDoms concepts and provide a
demonstration of how its flexible resource controls can be used for
server consolidation.

This seminar will be aired at the Sun office, 3655 North Point Parkway,
Suite 600, Alpharetta, GA.

If you would like to attend, please register at
https://www.suneventreg.com//cgi-bin/register.pl?EventID=1558

Lunch will be provided for those who register.

Hope to see you there!
