There's quite a bit of documentation on the Open Language Tools website 
- does that help ?

Remember, this is not a machine-translation system, it's a translation 
editor - it still needs a human do to the translation, but offers a 
number of features to assist human translators - such as repetition 
management, tag protection, status indicators, mini-translation-memories 
(for translating multiple related files)
