The above is specifically meant for CDROM access improvement. For
the harddisk case we need to attack UFS which is till now the standard
filesystem on OpenSolaris. With UFS the specifics are somewhat different
and this makes for an interesting project to investigate I/O
scheduling for
UFS.
In addition when ZFS root becomes standard then in any case desktop
performance will increase as ZFS has many improvements along with an
I/O scheduler.
