Hi List,
I installed SX developer edition today. everything was working fine. Then i
proceeded to install pkg-get (went fine). Then in installed xmmx and mplayer
using pkg-get and after i logged out, I'm unable to login using gnome. The
starting Gnome screen stays for a couple of seconds and then falls back to
the login screen.
I can login using CDE and I see a core dumped in root.
I reinstalled.. but this time decided to login and logout after each
software install. pkg-get went fine, adn so did xmms. However after i
insatlled mplayer and tried to logoff login, the same problem occurred.
Few of the dependencies of mplayer were gtk and glib .. perhaps the CSW
versions overwrote SUNW ?? I tried pkg-get remove mplayer from CDE.. that
didn't help.
Any solutions? Can I just pkgadd any particular stuff from the install DVD
to get gnome working again?? I'd hate to reinstall again.
Regards
Anil
PS : Besides, why does blastwave need to install its own version of gtk,
glb, openssl (?!), ncurses... when all of these are preinstalled by Solaris.
Cant mplayer just use these versions?
