Hi All,
I am working on creating my own Solaris Express Add-on DVD.
After a SXDE install, i found some stuff missing/desirable.
The DVD has the following
==Desktop Environments/ Window Managers ==
1) KDE 3.4.3 (Complete with SDK and multimedia)
2) Fluxbox
3) Project Looking glass (still fiddling with this, not sure)
== Packages that i wanted ==
3) GVIM 7.0 (with nice looking GTK fonts , unlike the xlib version
shipped with SX)
4) GNU Screen (still fiddling with this, not sure)
== Some conf files to make life easy ==
5) a nice .bashrc with paths set (/usr/bin/ccs) + colors in vim (export
$TERM= dtterm) + a nice color PS1 (the gentoo prompt)
6) a nice . Xdefaults (for nice xterm fonts and nice Emacs fonts)
==Multimedia ===
7) The latest solaris codec pack
8) Open Sound System .. for sound
9) NVIDIA Solaris driver (not needed on SXDE)
I have a simple shell script that installs the above.
NOTE
1) All the software is Sun Studio 11 built and built by me, except KDE
3.4.3 (community build, Sun Studio 10)
2) All the software relies on the "native"or "pristine" Sun supplied
libs, unlike blastwave . (Sorry, unable to use the right term, but I
think I put the message across)
3) The .bashrc and .Xdefaults files will probably not be copied (need
some input from the UG regarding this). But it does make the life of a
first timer very easy. (and probably familiar, if he's a linux user)
4) Can someone please tell me the way to cache the Netbeans UML pack.
(for installation via the DVD)
http://www.netbeans.org/community/releases/55/uml-download.html#installation
The UML Pack is installed from within the IDE. If someone can tell me a
way to cache it, it would be great.
QUESTION: Will it be legal to redistribute this DVD?
Regards,
Manish
