But note that Solaris (atleast Nevada) has changed considerably over 
time and the exact list of packages mentioned by either people might not 
give you a fully bootstrapped system. The essence of the idea is to 
throw away packages you don't need and include ones you need. You need 
to manually figure out that list of packages.

If you want to pick up packages from a Standard Solaris 10/SX install media, install it on an alternate root and expect to minimize it to 128 MB of installed space, I *suspect* it might not be possible. But you have the source with you. If you want to manually hack your way through, optimize executables for size over execution efficiency, strip binaries, have a compressed lofi layer (like BeleniX) etc.. it could work out.
