Avinash,

I've setup a couple of the HP dv6500 laptops for folks in our office.  If it is the same configuratoin then the following drivers are what you need:

1) The LAN should be an Nvidia GE port using the nge that is included in OpenSolaris.  I have had mixed results here, some of the laptops just work, but I have had one HP laptop that will not work with the nge driver even though it is identical to the other.

You will need to update the driver id (run /usr/X11/bin/scanpci)  the one I have seen is pci10de,54c

2) The sound requires the OSS drivers to fully work. 

3) The wireless is a broadcom chip which will require compiling an ndiswrapper to make it work.

4) Video works with the Nvidia drivers.  You just need to update the driver id, the one I have seen is pci10de,531.
