how do i edit the file ? i can see the desktop screen. I can't open a terminal. I tried the shortcut ALT + F2 .It will open a run program window. If i type vi /etc/X11/xorg.conf ( i had also selected the Run in Terminal option ) it displays the error stating something like this "Failed to execute default Terminal Emulator" 

If i select command line then i can't find the file xorg.conf. Tell me how do i get access to a terminal in xfce desktop / kde desktop ( any keyboard shortcut if present bcoz i can't use mouse )
